bump
is there a word with a more random list of possible definitions than “bump”? I tend to use definition 6: “Informal. to force upward; raise:” As in, “We should try to bump Pluckers as the place to go for lunch on Thursday.” I always get blank stares because this usage is apparently unique to my vernacular.
