Cheese Filled Crumb Coffee Cake
The people on my floor at work are trying to kill me. We had turtle brownies yesterday and today we have an insane looking “Cheese filled crumb coffee cake” 3 feet from my door.

Reader: Which breed is the toughest to train?

Adam Campbell: Some breeds are easier to own than others. I don’t believe there is one specific breed that can be singled out. Terriers can be high strung, dominant and stubborn which makes it difficult to control them around distractions. Bulldogs can be dominant and stubborn as well and sometimes very uncooperative. However, even Labs and Golden Retrievers who are typically thought to be easiest to train can be very difficult as well at times. I think it is the indvidual dogs personality and temperament which determines how easy or difficult they will be to train as well as the owners expectations.

This made me laugh. Tipper can be such a handful, but I love her anyways.

The Corn Refiners Association takes a swipe at those who would dare question High Fructose Corn Syrup.

(For the record, I do not like HFCS, and do my best not to buy things that use it.  I am less worried about whether or not it’s “healthy in moderation” than I am about the huge environmental footprint its production accrues.  However, it friggin’ bugs me that someone who doesn’t like HFCS is portrayed as rude, nosy, and uninformed.)

Agreed.

The Daily Show is picking up the media’s slack in a huge way.  WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT.  Good job, guys!

“There is a tendency in the media to kick ourselves, cringe and withdraw, when we are criticized. But I hope my colleagues stand strong in this case: it is important for the public to know that Palin raised taxes as governor, supported the Bridge to Nowhere before she opposed it, pursued pork-barrel projects as mayor, tried to ban books at the local library and thinks the war in Iraq is “a task from God.” The attempts by the McCain campaign to bully us into not reporting such things are not only stupidly aggressive, but unprofessional in the extreme.” Angry Amateurs - Swampland - TIME (via peterwknox) (via marco)

Obama would provide $80 billion in tax breaks, mainly for poor workers and the elderly, including tripling the Earned Income Tax Credit for minimum-wage workers and higher credits for larger families.

He also would raise income taxes, capital gains and dividend taxes on the wealthiest. He would raise payroll taxes on taxpayers with incomes above $250,000, and he would raise corporate taxes. Small businesses that make more than $250,000 a year would see taxes rise.
